GoWeigh public weighbridges are independently verified (calibrated) annually as part of the government’s licensing requirements. Our system is also monitored in real time to ensure the integrity of our weighing results.
Public weighbridges are calibrated to display weighing results in 20kg increments, as required by government regulations.
Our public weighbridge results are shown in tonnes as it is the preferred format for the heavy vehicle industry. To work out your result to kilograms, simply convert the tonnes to kilograms by multiplying the result by 1,000, e.g. 5.62 tonnes = 5,620kg.

Please carefully follow the setup signage on site applicable to your vehicle type. Additionally, each platform is clearly marked with yellow lines defining where each platform starts and ends. Finally, you can observe the LED sign located at the end of the weighbridge as you drive.

CARAVANS
Our two-step caravan weighing service provides you with a comprehensive report including caravan weight, vehicle weight, vehicle axle weights, ball weight and combined weight. To learn more about this service click here.
Our two-step weighing process requires you to unhitch (first weigh) and hitch (second weigh) while remaining on the weighbridge. We recommend only one person be on the weighbridge during this process. Any other persons, should remain in the vehicle or exit the weighbridge in a safe manner. If you tried completing a caravan weigh, but at the end of the process, the screen displayed a message saying there was a weighing discrepancy, there are several reasons for this issue.
Firstly, remember you are completing two weighs during this process. Both weighs should equal each other, and if they don’t, GoWeigh will not process the transaction (the final weight calculations and caravan weighing summary will be incorrect). Rather than producing an incorrect report, we ask that you exit the weighbridge and start the process again. We understand this is frustrating, but it’s better than producing an incorrect weighing result.
Reasons for a weighing discrepancy could include that you had one person on the weighbridge for the first weigh and two people on the weighbridge for the second weigh. Remember, you need to ensure there are no changes to total weight between both weighs. If you have this issue when onsite, we recommend you call the 1300 number and speak to us. We can remotely check your setup and operate the weighbridge for you if needed.
Please be aware that minor variations in the total weight result may occur between weighs. These discrepancies could stem from factors such as the 20kg toggle point or something as simple as a sudden gust of wind during the weighing process.

TRAILERS
No, at present, you cannot include a VIN number on your docket. GoWeigh is currently looking at developing this feature.
Yes, please follow the setup diagrams shown in the Trailer Weighing Guide.
GoWeigh weighbridges feature independent platforms. When completing a weigh, place your unhitched trailer on platform C and your vehicle on A and B. The system will provide you with individual platform weighs so you can determine your trailer weight. It is requirement to leave your vehicle on the weighbridge to ensure your safety.
A gross weight on a weighbridge refers to the total weight of a vehicle and/or trailer and its contents.
A tare weight refers to the weight of an empty vehicle and/or trailer.
When setup correctly, a trailer weight is shown on Platform C. This is not to be confused with the total weight shown on the docket, which shows your combined weight.
The aggregate trailer mass (ATM) refers to the total weight of a trailer when it is fully loaded to its maximum capacity, including the weight of the trailer itself plus any cargo or load it carries. This is set by the manufacturer and can be found on the trailer identification plate.
The gross trailer mass (GTM) refers to the maximum weight of the fully loaded trailer that can be supported by the trailer’s own wheels, not including any weight that is transferred to the towing vehicle.
